1. HDMI Port OR Thunderbolt-3 to HDMI

You will need to buy a new HDMI cable and firmly insert one end into the laptop and the other into the monitor’s HDMI port.

2. Then, take your HDMI cable and insert one side into the dongle and the other into the monitor.
3. After inserting the cables securely, your MacBook will automatically detect it and displayed on your monitor.
2. Displayport & Thunderbolt to Displayport
Most of the monitors come with different input or output ports; if your Samsung monitor has a DisplayPort, you can use it to connect the MacBook Air to your monitor.
To connect the monitor with this method, you will need to identify if your laptop has a mini DisplayPort or not.
You can use a mini DisplayPort to an HDMI cord to connect it to the monitor. You can get this cable online and plug it into the laptop and the other end into the monitor it will be connected to.
Also, you have another option you can buy a USB-C to DisplayPort cord to connect the laptop to your monitor.
Now you can use your Samsung monitor to use a wide display for watching movies, Netflix, or graphic designing.
3. DVI Port or Thunderbolt to DVI
Another option is the DVI port; if you have this option in your Samsung monitor, you can mirror your MacBook using a thunderbolt to DVI cord.
You should purchase a high-quality thunderbolt-3 to DVI cable and plug the USB end to the laptop and the other side into the monitor’s DVI port.
4. USB-C Port
If the monitor has a USB-C port then you can use this to connect the laptop. You should plug the cord into the MacBook and the other end into your monitor’s USB-C port.
The monitor should detect it automatically; in a few cases, it doesn’t detect it; you should go to the monitor settings and change the input to USB-C.
5. Using airplay
Here are the steps to connect the Samsung monitor to the Macbook Air by using the airplay.
- In order to connect your monitor and Mac, you should ensure that the monitor and Mac are connected to the same Wi-Fi connection.
- Ensure that both devices are powered on
- Now click on the Apple menu on the top left corner of the screen to choose the “System settings.”
- If you did not upgrade the Mac Ventura, then select the “system preferences”
- Now click on the monitor icon. If you’re using the macOS, Ventura, then you will see it on the top of the left menu
- Click on the checkbox at the bottom of the display window
- Click on the airplay icon on the menu bar
- Now click on the monitor which you want to connect
- Now select the “mirror display” if you want to display on the monitor that you’re using on the Macbook
- But if you want to use it as a second display, then select the “separate display.”
- When you have done and want to disconnect, click on the airplay icon in the menu bar and click on the turn-off airplay
Why won’t my MacBook Air connect to my Samsung monitor?
When you are facing issues with your MacBook Air that it is not connected to your Samsung monitor, you should ensure all wires/ cords are connected correctly from both ends.
If it does not work then you can also try removing and reconnecting the code to the laptop and monitor and then check if it works.
Also, you should ensure the cable you are using is not faulty; you can try another cord and check if it works.
Can I use a Samsung monitor with a MacBook Air?

If you have the latest MacBook Air, you’ll have only a USB-C port that you can use to connect it to your Samsung monitor.
You’ll need to purchase a multi-function thunderbolt-3 dongle that you can use to connect the USB-C to your monitor’s HDMI, Displayport, VGA, or DVI inputs.
