Check Signal Cable On Samsung Monitor Error [10 Quick Fixes]

Check Signal Cable On Samsung Monitor

Recently, I encountered an issue with my Samsung monitor due to a defective signal cable. Consequently, I chose to examine it personally.

After some research, I discovered that checking the signal cable is an easy process requiring only a few simple steps.

In this article, I will explain how to fix the check the signal cable on your Samsung monitor.

Let’s get started!

What is a check signal cable?

A check signal cable is a cable which carries audio and video signals to your monitor. The screen will not work correctly if the cable is not working properly.

If your monitor shows a “check signal cable” or “cable not found”, it means that the check signal cable is not working.

Why does the Samsung monitor show a check signal cable?

The check signal cable is a cable that ensures the images are displayed on your monitor correctly. When the monitor detects that there is a problem with the signals, it shows a check signal cable error.

If the check signal is not received by the pc, then the computer assumes that there is a problem and shows a check signal cable image on the monitor.

How to fix the check signal cable on the Samsung monitor

If you’re facing a check signal cable problem with your Samsung monitor, you should try these solutions to fix the problem.

1. Check the VGA cable

If VGA cable is not connected securely it can cause the issue, in that case check the VGA cable is connected securely to the monitor and computer.

You should also check if all pins are straight; if you do not find them straight, fix them.

Check the VGA cable for any visible damage; if you find any visible damage, you should need to replace or fix it.

Also, check the VGA cable with another monitor; if the cable is not working with another monitor, you should need to replace the cable with a new one.

2. Check the monitor setting and pixel clock

A pixel clock is a time that needs one pixel to change its colour. If you have a 1920×1080 monitor with a 60 HZ refresh rate, it takes 16 milliseconds to draw each frame on your display.

If your monitor Gpu is not keeping with that frame rate, some pixels won’t be able to change colour on time; as a result, check for signal cable problems or bad image quality.

To adjust the settings

1. Click on the start button, then write dxdiag in the search box

2. Now select the display tab, then goes to the monitor section

3. Click on the advanced properties, which open your monitor display settings with advanced options

Adjust the pixel clock settings by following the steps

1. Click on the settings search control panel in the search bar and click on it

2. Now click on the display

3. Then click on the resolution or advance settings

4. Now change the frequency to your preference, then click on the apply

If it does not solve your problem, try to adjust the resolution or refresh rate settings to solve the problem.

3. Loose connection between monitor and pc

A loose cable connection between the monitor and pc can cause the device to not displaying or not working at all. You should check the loose cable connection between the monitor and pc.

Disconnect the cable from both ends, replug it, and turn on the monitor to see if it works.

Also, check the cable for any external damage; if you find any damage, you should need to fix it.

If you did not find any damage, check the cable with another monitor; if another monitor is not working, cable is faulty, in that replace the cable with a new one.

4. Damage jack

Sometimes the cable may be plugged into the incorrect jack that can cause the check signal cable issue.

Ensure that the cable is plugged in the correct jack and check the jack for external damage; if you find any damage, you should need to fix it.

Sometimes, the jack could be faulty. It would be best if you replaced the jack with a new one.

5. PC may be in sleep or hibernation mode

Sleep or hibernation mode may be a common cause for the check signal cable issue on the monitor.

In order to solve the issue, if you hear the fans spinning on the PC and the check signal cable issue is prompted, your PC may be in sleep mode.

You can also fix it by pressing the power button on your PC; if it does not solve the issue, restart your PC by turning it off first and then pressing the power button for a few seconds.

6. Cpu does not have an integrated graphic card

Generally, not all CPUs have integrated graphics, so without the integrated or dedicated graphics card, the CPU cannot send the visual signal to the monitor.

You should ensure that your system has a way to process and send graphical data to the monitor.

If the CPU does not have an integrated graphics card, you must install the dedicated graphics card, which is compatible with the motherboard.

7. Not properly seated graphic card

To solve the issue, you will need to open the PC case to ensure the graphic card.

After removing the case, check the graphic card to ensure it’s seated properly. If the issue persists, remove the card and clean it with a fiber cloth.

Then, reinsert the card back securely and try to turn on your monitor to see if it works.

8. Graphics not in the right slot

Graphic cards have specific requirements for the PCIE slots, which they need, such as a 16 or 8 slot to work.

If you insert the stronger graphic card into the weak slot, it may not work at all.

Generally, the x16 slot has 4 lanes; not all graphic cards work with the 4 lanes.

9. Damaged Pcie slot

If any of the above solutions fix the issue, then there may be an issue with the PCIe slot. If the PCIe slot may be damaged, then the GPU will not work properly.

In order to solve the issue, try to change the GPU into another slot with a right lane count to ensure the slot is not faulty.

10. Dead CPU/motherboard

A dead CPU or motherboard can also be an issue for the check signal cable issue. In order to solve the issue, you should try to use a different monitor with the PC to ensure the monitor is not faulty.

If the other monitor works properly with the PC, you must consider buying a new one instead of wasting money.
