Stellar Blade Is Getting a Free Holiday DLC To Wrap Up a Successful Year, ‘We Strive to Bring Joy to Your Life’

One of the biggest surprises we had this year was, undoubtedly, Stellar Blade. At first, just like Black Myth: Wukong, many thought Shift Up’s latest endeavor looked too good to be true. However, the game proved everyone wrong once it launched. It featured top-notch combat, fantastic visuals, and some of the year’s best outfits in gaming. Yet, 2024 isn’t over, and Shift Up wants to celebrate a great year with its players by launching a free holiday DLC for Stellar Blade.

The free holiday DLC will land on Stellar Blade on December 17, 2024. According to the official post made by DongKi Lee, Shift Up’s CTO, and Stellar Blade‘s Technical Director, this update will feature holiday-themed decorations for Xion, two seasonal music tracks, a new mini-game in Xion, new outfits for Eve and Adam, and a cosmetic for Drone. The best thing about all these features is that you can toggle them on and off as you see fit. Yes, you can keep the holidays on forever if you want to. There’s also an option to toggle the content on automatically, meaning that whenever the festivities arrive, the game will decorate the city for you.

At the end of the news, DongKi Lee closes with the following message:

We strive to bring joy to your life. Have a warm and happy holidays with Stellar Blade!DongKi Lee, Shift Up’s CTO via PS Blog.

In truth, 2024 was an amazing year for Stellar Blade. In terms of reviews, it scored fairly high, with it sitting at 82% on OpenCritic. Furthermore, the game got two nominations for The Game Awards, one for Best Score and Music and another for Best Action Game. While it didn’t take home any awards, seeing the game getting proper recognition is great.

With these free updates and the recent paid NieR crossover, we can’t help but wonder what awaits Stellar Blade in 2025. Even if it is a single-player title, it is always nice to see a game such as this one getting further updates. Hopefully, the next year will keep giving us reasons to return to Xion.
