Snoop Dogg is leaving The Voice after serving as a coach on the show for Season 26. This was confirmed by the official Instagram account, which featured Adam Levine, John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, and Michael Bublé as the hosts for Season 27. Of course, many fans are devastated, seeing how the iconic rapper was a favorite coach among viewers. However, a few see fit that he leaves and doesn’t return to the show.
“I bet Adam didn’t go to Diddy’s parties like Snoop Dogg did,” states a commenter, pointing out how the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper allegedly attended Sean Diddy Combs’ parties. The Express Tribune reported that, according to an interview, “Snoop and Puffy [Diddy] were so close, closer than close, closer than most.” Their relationship went so far that they became “besties” and “do things together, and part[y] together, and do things that it was uncomfortable for two men to be that way.”
As of the New Year, Diddy has been incarcerated and will stay in prison until his trial, which will take place on May 5. The record producer’s rape and sex trafficking accusations, alongside other allegations, have affected many celebrities who’ve been in touch with the rapper. However, Snoop Dogg seems quite unaffected despite having possibly attended the “freak-offs” that Diddy often held in the past.

In fact, Snoop Dogg has been comfortably accepting new gigs, such as his recent appearance at the The Game Awards 2024. It should be no problem for him to land another tally in his lengthy career after his departure from The Voice. Many fans wish he’d stay for another season or return for a future one. “Snoop inspired contestants. He himself is an inspiration to young people as to what you can achieve,” remarks a top commenter. “I loved Snoop on the show. The chemistry he brought was absolutely great,” chimes in another.
Unfortunately for viewers, it appears Snoop Dogg will not return to The Voice, even after Season 27. He mentioned early on that he was “gonna do this for one year and get up outta here,” per She Finds. Overall, he felt that his time coaching and serving as a host was “a great experience.” Nevertheless, he likely plans to focus on other future endeavors, as well as his concerts and other promising appearances.

As for Diddy, many believe he’s on his way to giving out the names of those involved in his freak-offs and other egregious acts. Only time will tell whether or not Snoop Dogg’s name appears on that list. Many of the imprisoned rapper’s “old pals” are certainly ensuring they’ve distanced themselves as much as possible from the whole situation. But it’s doubtful even Snoop Dogg could escape getting burned if he’s called out.

Whatever the case, fans of The Voice can only stick to episode reruns of Season 26 if they want to see Snoop Dogg again in the show. There’s no telling whether he might change his mind and come back, but it seems that the possibility is rather unlikely.
