Luigi Mangione and Diddy Share the Same Jail & Same Legal Team Who Defended the Baby Oil

In a legal twist seemingly straight out of a Hollywood script, Luigi Mangione, accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, will not only share a Brooklyn jail with hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs but also the same legal team.

The 26-year-old Mangione arrived in New York City on December 19, 2024, to face federal murder charges. Following his arraignment, Mangione was then remanded to the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn. It just happens that this federal detention facility is also where the 55-year-old Diddy has been held since September 2024 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and other serious allegations.

The two high-profile inmates also now share more than their temporary address—they also share attorneys Marc Agnifilo and Karen Friedman Agnifilo, who informed a Manhattan federal court recently that their legal team would represent Luigi Mangione. If you can recall, Marc Agnifilo made waves defending Combs, insisting on his innocence in the face of mounting allegations.

Marc Agnifilo even explained why Diddy needed 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant in his mansion, claiming that his client has a big house and buys in bulk. Marc Agnifilo further defended Diddy‘s ‘freak-off’ parties, saying that they were merely known as ‘threesomes’ back in the 1970s when he was a kid.

As for Luigi Mangione, he faces a tangled web of charges. Mangion is accused of orchestrating the December 4 assassination of CEO Brian Thompson outside a Manhattan hotel, allegedly driven by a weeks-long vendetta against the insurance executive.

On the other side of Agnifilo’s clientele, Diddy’s legal troubles continue to worsen. Since his arrest earlier this year, over 20 civil suits have been filed against the rapper. Federal investigators have tied Combs to a sprawling sex trafficking operation spanning multiple states. Thus, Diddy’s trial is set to begin in May 2025.

Mangione has since dominated headlines since his arrest and a documentary is reportedly already in the works. Meanwhile, Diddy continues to insist on his innocence, with his legal team vowing to mount a vigorous defense.

Fitting enough for the serious charges both men face, life at MDC comes with its own harshness. The general consensus is that the detention center is a far cry from Hollywood mansions and even provides a miserable experience to inmates with its moldy ventilation and degrading facilities.

Some reports even say that the prison has no pillows and is notorious for its all-around poor living conditions, especially for Luigi Mangione and Diddy.
