Season 7 of Diablo 4, titled Season of Witchcraft, introduces more than just fresh mechanics and items. It brings exciting new features like the Armory, a revamped Season Journey, and crucial class balance updates (including adjustments to Spiritborn). The standout mechanic this season is Witchcraft Powers, which enhance your abilities—such as boosting minion size or hexing enemies. Fans of the Witch Doctor may notice some familiar vibes here! This guide will prepare you for everything Season of Witchcraft has to offer.
Which Class Should You Choose for Season 7?
Ever since the Loot Reborn update, all classes in Diablo 4 have been relatively balanced, and Season 7 is no exception. You can dive into the new content with any class and still have a great experience. Plus, the season introduces plenty of new items and runes, giving you endless options to experiment with builds.
That said, Rogue is shaping up to be a strong contender this season. If you’re eyeing Spiritborn, be aware that their previously overpowered state has been adjusted due to fixes for unintended interactions. Even so, they remain a formidable choice!
New Mechanic: Witchcraft Powers
The headline feature of Season 7 is Witchcraft Powers, which share similarities with Vampiric Powers from the Season of Blood. As part of the seasonal questline, you’ll unlock these abilities once you enter the Seasonal Realm.
Witchcraft Powers fall into three categories:
- Eldritch: Focused on damage.
- Psyche: Centered on defense.
- Growth & Decay: Enhances healing and resource management.
These powers are highly customizable, much like the Glyph system, giving you room to tailor them to your playstyle.
To unlock more Witchcraft Powers, you’ll need to build seasonal reputation with the Coven, which is earned by completing tasks like Tree of Whispers quests, defeating Headrotten, and participating in Witchtides.
Leveling Up Fast in Season 7
To maximize your XP grind in the Season of Witchcraft, combine various activities effectively:
- Start the seasonal questline early to gain access to Witchcraft Powers.
- Rotate between Witchtides and Helltides for efficient farming.
Boost your XP gains by using Elixirs and Incense:
- Elixirs provide either a 5% or 8% XP boost.
- Incense adds an additional 5% boost (note: multiple types of incense don’t stack for XP).
This can net you a total of 13% bonus XP when used together.
Avoid playing on Normal difficulty unless you’re specifically farming Aspects of Power. Hard difficulty and beyond offer better rewards and experience scaling, making it the superior choice for grinding.
Returning players: If you’re not diving into Season 7, you can use the Welcome Back Boost to level your Eternal Realm character to level 50. Claim it in Kyovashad!
Armory: Effortless Build Switching
Season 7 also introduces the Armory, a much-requested feature that lets you create and save custom loadouts. These include:
- Items
- Skills
- Glyphs
- Paragon Boards
The Armory is available for both Eternal and Seasonal Realms, and best of all, it’s free to use—no gold required.
If you’ve avoided experimenting with builds because of the hassle, the Armory makes it easier than ever. Now you can seamlessly switch setups for different content, like Tree of Whispers runs or The Pit.
Season 7 of Diablo 4 offers a wealth of new content, features, and opportunities for build diversity. With this guide, you’re ready to jump in and make the most of the Season of Witchcraft!
